Hosted by Vale of Towy MCC.
On Sunday 23rd April Vale of Towy Motorcycle Club hosted a round of the 2023 WSW Centre Championship which also included a round of the WMF Adult Welsh Championship.
The 65 riders from all parts of Wales had 3 laps of a tricky 10 section course consisting of a mixture of rivers, rocks muddy banks and more rocks awaiting them at the popular Brynllewelyn Farm, near Carmarthen in West Wales. The large entry was split into 2 groups with Experts, Masters and Clubmen starting in the river at section 6 and the rest of the entry starting on section 1- a small stream with muddy banks the steeper areas being reserved to test the expert riders. First lap proved one hell of a challenge for the majority of the entry due to the rocks in the streams being so slippery the second lap felt like a different event with the now scrubbed rocks giving oodles of grip.
With the forecast of rain showers during the event the riders got on with it hoping to avoid them but as it happened it turned out to be a cracking day.
At the end of the event the majority went home happy and full up after tucking into the hot food available in the signing on shed provided by landowner Tim’s better half Vicky.
A BIG thank you to all the observers who once again turned up without whom there would be no events and not forgetting club members who took time out to prepare and mark the course.
With Championship points deservedly won the riders await the next round.
